Per-Hour Editing

  • The TM does thorough edits that go far beyond many of our competitors’ simple spelling, vocabulary, and grammar changes. For instance, we improve the style and tone so that the final document has the effect you intend. We can do that because we tailor our edits based on background you provide. As a result, our work is often a combination of copywriting and editing.
  • But should you select The TM’s per-hour or per-page editing? Both are superb. However, choose per-hour if you want faster turnaround while still receiving edits with unbeatable quality.
  • The types of documentation we handle include emails, reports, presentations, pamphlets, and resumes. The English can be business, technical, or general.
  • Unless for a presentation, we recommend that you submit a Microsoft (MS) Word file because Word has a Track Changes function that enables you to easily see our revisions. And, if you have MS PowerPoint 2013 or 2016, you can use a Compare function to see changes made, though only one by one.
  • To help ensure the best result, The TM will probably contact you with questions. In addition, check what we return. If necessary, you can resubmit the document for more changes and/or arrange a Skype session. (Both cases will add to the total cost.) Or, you can contact us with a quick question. That might be free!
  • Before clicking “Add to Cart”, read the “Payment Policy” and "General Instructions" below.

    • Initial Purchase Price
      • Pay the price listed on our website. That price is for one hour of editing. Do not pay more than that initially. However, the final price will often be lower or higher depending on the time required. So, consider the listed price to be a down payment. See Price Adjustments below.
    • Per-Hour Edit Calculations
      • One hour costs 7,500 yen. But The TM calculates its time in 10-minute increments at 1,250 yen each.
        • Calculation Example #1: If we spend 50 minutes on a job, the final price comes to 6,250 yen (1,250 x 5). We will then refund 1,250 yen (= your 7,500 yen down payment minus 1,250).
        • Calculation Example #2: If we spend 80 minutes on a job, the final price is 10,000 yen (1,250 x 8). We will then bill you an additional 2,500 yen (= your 7,500 yen down payment plus 2,500).
    • Estimating Your Cost
      • The TM averages four pages of edits an hour (that is, 800 words) for typical Japanese-English quality with content that is not highly specialized, such as in an IEEE report.
    • Additional Checks
      • You can have as many checks as you like, but will be billed as follows.
        • The rate remains 1,250 yen for every ten minutes. But, unless you made major revisions to the file The TM returned, we often do eight pages an hour (1,600 words).
    • Price Adjustments
      • Whenever the final price is different from your initial purchase price, we will soon notify you of a refund or request additional payment. Payment will be due seven business days later.
